Rewa River Water Supply Project: Enhancing Fiji's Water Security with Eurohoist's Advanced Cranes
The Rewa River Water Supply Project in Fiji is the third project signed by Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) in Fiji, following the Nadarivatu Renewable Energy Project and the Wainisavulevu Dam Raising Project.
This project is located in the Suva-Nausori area and is dedicated to improving local living standards and promoting economic development. The water supply from the two existing water treatment plants, Waila (100,000 tons/day) and Tamavua (50,000 tons/day), is greatly affected by seasonal variations, making it challenging to meet the growing demand for water and compromising the reliability of urban water supply. The implementation of the Rewa River Water Supply Project will significantly reduce Suva-Nausori’s reliance on the existing two water treatment plants, enhance the reliability of urban water supply, provide more convenience to local residents, and promote the continuous development of the local economy.
To ensure the efficient operation of this essential public welfare project, PowerChina selected Eurohoist's European-style cranes as the equipment supplier and signed a supply contract in July 2020.
The project includes two European-style single-girder overhead cranes and three European-style electric chain hoists. These cranes utilize advanced technology and craftsmanship to ensure high precision, efficiency, and safety. The delivery of these European-style cranes was successfully completed in December 2020, providing strong support for the smooth implementation of the Rewa River Water Supply Project in Fiji!
