As a multi-modal intermodal warehouse and logistics contractor for high-capacity steels, A Dawson has installed four of our 30-ton overhead cranes. These cranes, with their ability to receive and transport coils, will play a vital role in supplying coils to Northeast automotive and construction equipment manufacturers, and are expected to handle up to 290,000 tons of steel each year.

These four cranes are essential for inventory management in a warehouse that is 36 meters wide and 264 meters long. Each double box girder crane spans 35 meters, and each is equipped with a custom-made heavy-duty wire rope electric hoist VX. The operating alarm system, flashing signal lights and anti-collision system can cover every vehicle on the entire span, ensuring maximum safety. Each vehicle is equipped with a whole section of maintenance platform to ensure safety during maintenance and repair.

The steel coils will be unloaded from the train cars and stored, and these cars can always be driven into the warehouse. Coils will be stored in designated areas and transferred from warehouses to transport vehicles upon receipt of shipping notifications from local manufacturers to meet their production needs. This requires the use of EUROHOIST (SHANGHAI) Co., Ltd. VX hoist to meet the high frequency of product transportation.

The VX hoist is specifically designed to meet specific lifting requirements. In this project, considering the high-intensity workload, a powerful heavy-duty crane design is required, and the working level of the mechanical parts is to choose M8. A special feature of the VX hoist is its vertical lifting, with the hook lifting up and down along a vertical path, which can accurately place the product while eliminating any lateral resistance. The open design of the hoist facilitates access to important components. The external brake, located at the shaft of the first gearbox, is far from the drive motor, is cooler in use, and is easier to inspect and maintain.

The plant has sustainable functions to reduce long-term energy costs, ensure greater energy security, and ensure high-density output of products internally. Constant temperature and humidity are maintained in the factory building, and the energy comes from the buried ground heat source and the solar panels installed on the roof, reducing the dependence on the power grid. Rainwater is sent from the roof through a balanced pond into a drainage network to meet the requirements of Sustainable Urban Drainage (SUDS).
